Emraan Hashmi's list of successes is containing to head northwards. With Jannat 2 turning out to be a success as well and Shanghai winning him accolades too, Emraan is finding himself in an enviable position, where he is clearly one of the most in-demand young superstars in Bollywood other than Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. For someone who started off as an outsider years ago in Footpath and Murder, Emraan is, today finding himself in a position where a good opening is guaranteed for each and every film of his. However, the young actor still wants to stay as the same man who he was when he was not a star, and intends to be rooted on ground instead of getting carried away. "That's because this is the way I am. It is a saying that 'You are a reflection of what you do'. That is exactly the case with me. Some actors get bogged down with all the stardom that comes their way. It becomes an excess baggage but they want to carry it all over with them. I can't do that because I am inherently not like that", says Emraan who also has successes like The Dirty Picture, Murder 2, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai behind him. For someone who didn't mind getting married when many felt it was a professional hara-kiri to do so, especially due to his 'serial kisser' image, Emraan feels that in a high profile profession like this, it requires good control over one's self to maintain sanity despite all the adulation, accolades and brickbats that may come from either direction at any time. "Whether it is failure or success, it is all so high profile in this world of glamour. You are forever in public eye and again it depends on you whether you want it that way even after you come back home. I, for sure, don't want it that way because I cherish life away from my world of films as well", he says, "I am not a star when the camera is not rolling and that's the reason why I am still as easy going as I was 7-8 years back. Yes, things have changed, but not for me as a person. It is a deliberate attempt on my part to get away from the stardom when I am not in front of the camera."
