Since Aishwarya Rai seems to be changing her boyfriends frequently, Mani Ratnam is having a hard time starting his new film.
When it?s a director like Mani Ratnam, some actors agree straight away without hearing details of the character or the story line. ?Dil Se? and ?Yuva? were flops but the craze for Mani Ratnam continues. Abhishek Bachchan turned down Ram Gopal Varma?s ?Sholay II? but gave his call sheet for Mani Ratnam?s ?Guru.? Despite superstar Rajini and director Shankar asking her, Aishwarya Rai turned down ?Sivaji? and accepted to perform in ?Guru.?
But this is old news. Now, Mani Ratnam?s film suffers from postponement of work, and it?s all because of Aishwarya changing boyfriends!
Aishwarya dropped Vivek Oberoi and latched on to Abhishek Bachchan. As a result, the upset Oberoi walked out of ?Guru.? So, Mani Ratnam approached John Abraham. Unexpectedly, John regretted that he had no free dates to give. The same thing happened with Saif Ali Khan too. Why is it that actors are refusing the part that Oberoi walked out of?
Abhishek has the important role in ?Guru.? John and Saif do not want to play second fiddle in the movie, say some. But John and Saif have adjusted and acted together in films with 5 heroes. So, this is not the reason, so what else could it be?
The jilted Oberoi is still suffering from being rejected by Aishwarya Rai and this has affected his co-actors. Mani Ratnam may be tense but he?s not a worried man. After all, he gave a name to new actors like Aravind Swamy and Madhavan. So what, he can always get another actor, maybe a new face and make a successful film.
